In the wake of the last incident, and on Dark's unwavering advice, I decided to visit America.
Turns out I have to go back to Japan as well. But not before I head over to Shinigami Central, as Dark is so found of saying. I have to go fill out forms and sign some requisition sheets before I can go on holiday.
Malef turned out to have the same idea in mind, but fortunately, our conversation (if one could call it that) was terse and concluded itself quickly. He seemed almost passingly civil, and I kept myself from pointing that out to him, as that might make him incorrigable.
Soon after I was done, I ended up running into an old friend. Rukia, stationed in Japan with a permanent residence. I was surprised (understatement) to find that she was almost completely human. A mortal!
Hers was a fascinating tale of Hollows and the boy who had saved her, and in doing so condemned both himself and Rukia to wholly different lives. To say the least, I was concerned, but Rukia just responded to my worries with a sad smile, saying that she was just glad to be alive. Which, she added, was funny, coming from a Shinigami.
As I bid her good day and good luck, I felt my mind drift back to the half-alive boy that was, currently, living his busy life in Amity Park, USA. I feel confident in my idea to at least sneak a peek at what he does with his powers; how he's progressing and all that. I hope he doesn't find me too intrusive....
Ah well, the forces of Darkness are jogging my elbow to go off and relax. Signing off....
